Caverion wins another building technology project for the T3 University Hospital in Turku, Finland

Caverion will implement electrification for the new Turku T3 University Hospital. The agreement, worth around EUR 15.6 million, was signed with the Hospital District of Southwest Finland. Caverion announced earlier in September that it will implement also heating, sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning systems for the hospital.

“We are happy about having Caverion widely responsible for the building technology of the new hospital,” says Timo Seppälä, Project Lead, Hospital District of Southwest Finland.

Caverion is responsible for implementing electrical system installations and project execution of the new hospital. The hospital’s electrical systems include demanding medical facilities, such as G1 and G2. Caverion will also deliver transformers, a busway system, a centralised path-based lighting management system, and a public address system (PA).

“The hospital’s building technology is demanding and requires managing the whole complexity to deliver healthy, safe and well-functioning spaces for the users of the facilities. We are delighted that the Hospital District of Southwest Finland trusts in our expertise to implement this project,” says Ville Tamminen, Head of Division Finland. The new building will be connected to the T-Hospital and built on a concrete deck going over the railway line and Helsinginkatu street, and the whole area covers 55,000 m2. The hospital is expected to be completed in late summer 2021.

The new T3 hospital will house paediatric, gynaecology, obstetrics, ear, nose and throat, and oral and maxillofacial diseases treatment of the Hospital District of Southwest Finland as well as medical support services.
