Caverion to provide maintenance services for Kakolanmäki wastewater treatment plant in Finland
Caverion and Turun seudun puhdistamo Oy have signed an agreement on comprehensive technical maintenance and implementation of investment-based projects in Kakolanmäki wastewater treatment plant.
Caverion will be responsible for the maintenance and technical systems of process technology and process piping in Finland's third largest wastewater treatment plant. The systems include sprinklers and automation, heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, cooling, electricity, and security and safety. The responsibility for the maintenance begins at the start of 2019, but the collaboration gets an earlier start through investment projects.
“We're happy that the quality of our operations and the solutions we provide have convinced our customer and that we can continue to work together with more comprehensive services. By developing the maintenance, we are helping Turun seudun puhdistamo to achieve continuous great results in its operations,” says Ville Tamminen, Head of Division Finland at Caverion.
“We have collaborated with Caverion for years. The previous project collaboration provides an excellent foundation for implementing maintenance services. We are looking forward to the start of the new agreement period,” says Jarno Arfman, Technical Manager at Turun seudun puhdistamo.
Kakolanmäki wastewater treatment plant is a modern automated production plant that processes the wastewater of almost 300,000 residents in the Turku region, in addition to the industrial wastewater of the region. Wastewater is led to the plant for processing from 14 municipalities with an average of 90,000 cubic metres a day. Since the plant was commissioned, the phosphorus load in the sea areas surrounding Turku has decreased approximately 75%.
