Caverion signed a Technical Installation contract on the design and installation of tunnel technology in Austria

Caverion has signed a contract with Strabag Infrastructure & Safety Solutions to design and install the operational and safety-related equipment for the tunnel chain Klaus on the motorway A9 Pyhrn in Upper Austria. The contract covers the technical disciplines of Electricity, Information and Communication Services, Security and Safety as well as Ventilation and Air Conditioning. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 4.8 million and it includes Design & Engineering, Project Management and Project Execution.

The tunnel chain Klaus section of the A9 Pyhrn Motorway in Austria is approximately 8 km long and it is located around 130 km east of Salzburg. It is one of the nine most important Alpine transit routes connecting the South-East of Europe with the North.

STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions belongs to Caverion’s general contractors client segment. The total contract of the tunnel chain Klaus comprises the electrical equipment of four tunnels in accordance with current safety standards.
