Caverion provides building systems worth over EUR 21 million for laboratory and administration building in Berlin, Germany

Caverion has signed a contract with Hochtief Building GmbH to provide building systems worth over EUR 21 million for a new laboratory and administration building, Berlin-Brandenburg State Laboratory (LLBB) in Berlin. Caverion is responsible for design & engineering of the building systems and project execution.

Caverion’s delivery covers the following technical disciplines: ventilation and air-conditioning, heating and sanitation, electricity, cooling and automation. In addition, Caverion implements fire protection of the security-related areas. The building has four floors with gross floor area of 22,800 square meters housing office spaces as well as laboratories with high security levels.

“Laboratories of security level S3, like in this case, have stringent safety guidelines. The technical requirements are accordingly demanding concerning clean air solutions, fire security and energy supply. We have already earlier demonstrated our technical expertise in equipping high security areas, such as high security laboratories of Marburg University, Bernhard Nocht Institut of Hamburg or Robert Koch Institut of Berlin,” says Werner Kühn, Executive Vice President & CEO, Division Germany of Caverion.

Caverion will start project execution in October 2016 and it is expected to be finished by the end of 2018. Hochtief Building GmbH belongs to Caverion’s general contractor client segment.
