Caverion provides a managed life cycle project worth over EUR 80 million at Kalvebod Brygge in Copenhagen, Denmark

Caverion has signed a managed services contract with general contractor A. Enggaard and Nordea to deliver a managed life cycle project for a new office building to be used by several public sector authorities at Kalvebod Brygge in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The value of the project is more than EUR 80 million for Caverion, which makes it one of the largest public-private partnership (PPP) projects in Denmark and also one of the largest orders Caverion has ever received. The contract is included in Caverion’s Q1/2016 order backlog.

Caverion’s part of the PPP project includes total technical solutions covering all building systems in the property, followed by operation, service and maintenance throughout a contract period of 20 years from completion. This means that Caverion is responsible for the energy management, effectiveness, usability, safety, and condition of the property throughout its life cycle.

In the project, Caverion takes full responsibility for the planning, building, operating and maintaining of all technical systems and solutions in the property, including technical disciplines such as heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, electricity, security and safety, and building automation. The property is connected to Caverion’s remote management service, which on its part ensures agreed conditions and optimal energy use in the building. In addition to technical maintenance, Caverion is also responsible for managing soft services related to the property, such as canteen, cleaning and winter maintenance, through subcontracting.

“This is an exciting project, not only because of its size and long contract time, but also as an illustration of our extensive competence across all technical disciplines and service areas that we offer. It also demonstrates that we are making progress towards Caverion’s strategic target to provide our clients life cycle solutions,” says Fredrik Strand, President and CEO of Caverion.

The building will bring together Banedanmark (Danish Rail Way Authority), Danish Transport Authority, Danish Road Directorate and Danish Energy Agency in one property. The total area of the property is approximately 40,000 m2.

The assignment is part of a public-private partnership (PPP) between A. Enggaard, Nordea and Danish Building and Property Agency.

Caverion’s work will start during the first quarter of 2016. The project delivery will be completed during second half of 2018, followed by operation and maintenance phase until the year 2038.

This project belongs to Caverion’s public sector client segment.
