Caverion delivers ventilation and air conditioning technology for new Tesa office building in Germany

Caverion has been awarded the contract for the ventilation and air conditioning systems of the self-adhesive product manufacturer Tesa’s new office building. The building complex, which will house administration, research and technology divisions, is to be built in Norderstedt, close to Hamburg. Work starts in January 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in mid of 2015.

Caverion will install ventilation and air conditioning systems in all parts of the buildings. The total air flow rate will be in the region of 1.2 million m³/h. A so called low-particle room is one of the areas planned for the research division, and Caverion will be installing its ventilation and de-aeration system. Some of the facilities in the production division will be fitted with explosion protection to ATEX 2 standards. The solvent vapours generated will be collected from the ventilation infrastructure and subjected to regenerative oxidisers. The exhaust air treatment system will reduce CO2 emissions and generate energy at the same time. By recovering heat from all ventilation and air conditioning units, the building's energy consumption will be optimized.

The three-part building complex has gross floorspace of around 64,000 m² over five to seven storeys. Once
